A 19th century hand painted antique teacup and saucer duo, possibly by Ridgway, England. An elegant look, the adelaide shaped teacup offers a nice wide bowl which is very much of the period. The teacup rim moulding creates a shell like look, with detailed blue comb lines ascending towards the centre. There are pretty blue and gold leaf shapes around the rim with delicate gilded details extending to the ring handle and the pedestal base. In the centre of both teacup and saucer there is a small hand painted gilded flower with its leaves exending outwards.
Teacup height 6cm
