A beautiful antique tea set made of English fine bone china. Manufactured by New Chelsea Porcelain Co. Ltd, Chelson Street, Lonton, Staffordshire Potteries, England, under the name Chelson China. The tea set is decorated with colourful exotic hand painted birds on an off white back ground. The rims of all the pieces are gently scalloped and gilded. The teacups have a nice wide bowl which tapers slightly at the base and sits on a low pedestal. The teacup handle is looped with a moulded thumb rest.

Condition: In very good antique condition: Firing spots on most of the pieces. Crazing on most of the pieces. Tiny stray dots of paint. A few spots of bubbled glaze. The inside of one of the teacups is darker than the others. None of the teacups ring when tapped this is due to the crazing. There are no cracks or chips. The colours are bright and all the gilding is intact. The set looks as if it has not been used, it may have been a cabinet set.
