A superb pair of antique hand painted coffee cups and saucers, manufactured by the well respected makers Royal Doulton, (Doulton & Co. (Ltd), Lambeth, London, England. This sought after pair is over 100 years old and is still in remarkable condition. The coffee cups and saucers are decorated in the green ‘Temple’ chinoiserie pattern which depicts an oriental temple and bridge over water surrounded by vibrant flower. Each piece has captured an oriental feel and have been carefully hand painted with big blooming pink florals and violet forget me nots. The rims are decorated in an apple green base with tiny swirl, hexagon and leaf like patterns. The cup handles are also decorated with beautiful tiny hand painted flower and leaf stems. The coffee duos are made of the most finest and lightest bone china. If held up to the natural light they are quite transparent.
