A fine English bone china, Shelley ‘Wild Flowers’ teacup, saucer and tea plate trio in the ‘Dainty’ shape. Manufactured by Shelley Potteries Ltd, The Foley, Longton, Staffordshire Potteries, England, this trio dates to circa 1940s. (Name “Shelley” formerly used by Wileman & Co). The trio is very light weight bone china and is decorated with colourful English wild flowers, highlighted with powder pink coloured scalloped rims, the pink colour extending to the hand painted teacup handle. The sides of the teacup are fluted with embossed fine lines running length ways down the side of the fluting, which are also in the design around the edges of the saucer and tea plate. Each piece is very light weight and the teacup rings well.
