Adderley Vintage Tea Set

A very unique vintage 18 piece fine bone china tea set comprising of six teacup, six saucers and six tea plates.  Two teacups have a different shaped handle from the other four, and there is also no inner gold band. (Please look at photos).  The tea set was manufactured by the well respected pottery Adderley,  England in circa 1950's. The decoration are hand painted, depicting a cottage garden scene of colourful flowers, tall trees and a secret paved area leading to a Grecian vase overflowing with more pink flowers.  The back ground is white which allows the artistry of the painted scenes to stand out well.  Each piece is slight different showing difference movements of the artist brush strokes.  The teacup rims are scalloped to create a flower shape look and are beautifully gilded.  The gilding extends to the elegant  handle and the pedestal base.  There is a solid gilded band inside four of the teacups which is neat and reflects the light against the crisp white. The rims of the saucers and tea plates are  scalloped and finished with gilding.
